INDUCTION INDUCTION PRINCIPLE

1. “This is how we will begin the hypnosis.”

1. Define the situation as hypnotic.

2. “Stare at a point on your thumbs...”

2. Focus attention. Build responsiveness.

3. “... and begin to notice that your vision changes.”

3. Perception Alteration

4. “It might become blurry and your eyes might tear.”

4. Perceptual Alteration.

5. “After a while, you will begin to notice the weight of the coin.”

5. Guide associations; focus attention

6. “Then your fingers will begin to slowly open. When the coin drops, your eyes will close, and you can begin to go into a trance.”

6. Dissociation
