“Tonight, we travel in style.” Hal pulled the tarp off his father’s black pickup truck. “Authentic roadhouse style.”

Josseran scowled at the dents and rusted bumper. Duct tape covered the rips on the vinyl passenger seat. A wire hanger closed the glove compartment. “I could—”

“No magic! This truck is vintage.” Hal turned the key, and the engine purred. He reversed to ease out of the garage, and the engine died. “Well, damn. It ran fine when I hauled a Christmas tree off the lot for the candlelight tour.”

“Magic will cost you one slow dance.” Josseran folded his arms. “No space between us. My hands on your ass.”

“You’ll fade.”

“I’ll bring a cock cage and put it on in the restroom if necessary.”

“About those restrooms—I’ll tell you when we get there.”

Charlie stayed behind, his sides swelling. The greenhouses were overflowing with more broods of naturals, and Josseran had to relocate them to the landfill and barren farms Hal had purchased online. The sellers probably thought Hal was an idiot for buying them without a full disclosure, but when the lands were flourishing, he could resell them at twenty times the price paid.

Hal drove on the interstate toward Memphis, took a ramp with a food and gas sign, and pulled into the gravel parking lot of a rough-and-tumble saloon-style building with rocking chairs on a wide porch lit by strands of white lights. Smoke poured from the chimney pipe of an oil drum barbeque and drifted across the parking area.

“Have we come to the right place?” Josseran asked, looking for a sign.

“Welcome to Logan’s Wharf. It doesn’t advertise and isn’t on the map, but everybody knows its name.” Hal had been secretive so that Josseran couldn’t google the establishment. Now Hal opened up as he circled the packed parking lot for a space. “It’s a cafeteria-style restaurant that converts to a honkytonk after the supper crowd leaves. The wharf has operated as a trading post, ammunition storage during the Civil War, then moonshining and marijuana trafficking until a crackdown. The Logan twins bought it when gay marriage was legalized. Sissy runs the restaurant with her wife, and Bubba and his husband run the bar and dance club.”

“Sissy… Bubba…?”

“Honest to God, their real names. None of the buildings are original, and there are inside restrooms. However, the special outhouses in back require a key to use, and signing up for potty time costs twenty dollars. The floors are clean, the wood hole smooth, and the outer walls thick.”

Josseran frowned. “Key?”

“I’ve driven here a dozen times by myself, only to chicken out in the parking lot.”

“A smooth wood hole…?”

“I brought condoms. You wear a cock cage and blow me. Then remove it and jerk off.”

Josseran swallowed. “You’ve given this a lot of thought.”

“Will it work?”

“Hmmm.” His eyes silvered. “Odd. Your plan is permitted because there is no wrongful cheating on your fiancé.”

“That’s because the wish specified absolutely no cheating after marriage. By God, I deserve a bachelor party!”

“Aha. A clever loophole. A bachelor party is permitted, as it’s traditional, not malevolent.
