CHAPTER 27

With Walt settled as publisher of the Daily Reporter, he was looking forward to his date with Laura. When he called her to inform her of his good news, she suggested they celebrate. Both were looking forward to spending intimate time together since he would be living in Oakmont permanently. With reservations at 7:00 PM at Avondale Country Club, she suggested he arrive at her townhome by 6:30 PM for a ceremonial glass of wine. As he approached the door, she was waiting to greet him. Before he could do anything, she flung her arms around him. Returning her embrace, he could feel her firm breasts tantalizing him. Before he could even say a word, she released her sensual embrace, caressed his face gently, and planted a passionate, but gentle kiss on his lips. It was a very tender soft kiss he willingly returned. Peering in her haunting green eyes; his hormones rage inside him.

“Wow. What was that for?”

“Let’s just call it a congratulatory kiss.”

“Well, that’s the best congratulatory kiss I’ve ever had.”

“Good answer and the right one, Mr. Publisher,” Laura said with a sneaky grin on her face. “We should have time for a small glass of wine before we go, okay?”

Although his hormones were looking for more, he nodded. Laura already had two glasses of Chianti Classico poured. She went to the large island bar and picked up both glasses of wine and joined him on the love seat. He swirled the wine around and around smelling the aromatic nuances of the wine permeating from the glass. Taking a sip, he savored the wine on his palate. An excellent tasting wine he thought, but not as tasty as her soft lips.

“Walt, let’s make a toast.”

“Hm, a great idea.”

“Here’s to us, may we share many more glasses of wine together and grow our friendship even further?”

“I'd like that very much, thank you.”

They both raised their glasses and softly clinked them together. After another sip of the wine, Laura placed her wine glass on the table and took his drink out of his hand and placed it on the table. A little surprised, he studied her haunting green eyes. She smiled, leaned in and kissed him again. This time it was more than a soft kiss sending his hormones into action. Returning her passionate kiss; the chemistry inside his body was erupting. Longing for more of him; her kisses went deeper tasting his sultry-hot sweetness. Pulling her close to him; he felt her passion and heat as her firm breasts moved against his chest. Although he was longing for more, he didn’t want to take advantage of her and pulled away from her. Picking up his wineglass, he tasted the wine and then sat it down. “I think it’s time we went to dinner. I don’t want to rush things, you know.”

“Yeah, I guess we better go, or we might not leave at all, besides I am getting hungry, we can finish our wine later.”

Arriving at Avondale Country Club about ten minutes late wasn’t a problem since she had reserved the private Sunroom.
