ANGER MANAGEMENT

Donald Meichenbaum

Have you ever known someone who is hot-tempered and easily riled, who has a short fuse, overreacts to frustrating events, carries grudges, desires revenge and becomes aggressive too easily? Have you ever known someone who carries a chip on their shoulder, has their antennae up all the time, on the lookout for provocations, and takes slights personally, so that disagreements escalate quickly into confrontations?

What do these individuals do with their anger? Does their anger take the form of verbal and physical assaults (sarcasm, swearing, hitting) or does it turn into an indirect form of passive aggression (becoming silent, doing something to hurt others)?
