Another reason people have sex is to show their love for another person. That is why sex is sometimes called “making love.” Sex can come with a lot of emotions. Sex can also come with some risks, and that is why it is important for people to be mature and have a level of trust before they have sex with someone else (more on this in Chapter 11).

There are a lot of types of love that do not include sex. We can show love to people by saying “I love you,” giving them a hug, or holding their hand. We can also show people we love them by cuddling or kissing them.
