Take into account the time and energy commitment leading a professional group entails. To help make leading a group a little more manageable LinkedIn provides some guidelines. You can only send one email a week to your group. If you set up a ‘by invitation only’ group you, as the leader, have to approve everyone who applies for membership. If you set up an open group anyone can join and the discussion content is not just limited to LinkedIn but can be shared on other social networks. You can allow your members to invite others into the group.
