Roy said nothing, turning his head to the TV. Gus trudged to the kitchen. He picked up a bunch of Gatorades that were joined by plastic rings and pulled one off. He turned to Roy. “You want one…?”

Gus was interrupted by the click of the front door latch. Shaya appeared in the doorway, wearing her pink HAZMAT gear.

“Uh oh. Nurse Ratched is here. I better take my place,” said Gus, scuttling to the recliner, sitting bolt upright, and placing his hands in his lap. Shaya put one of her hands on her hip and cocked her head at Gus. Both men chuckled.
