It’s been a few days since my trip to the mall with Sledge. We are finding our own routine with Rowan and I’m starting to believe that I’ve finally found my home. Rowan has just woken up from her early afternoon nap so I put down the amazing book by Leann Asher and went to get her out of the bassinet. As I walk through the door of her room, I’m smacked in the face with the most god awful smell. What the hell is that smell, did something freaking die in here? I make it over to Rowan and can not stop the words from leaving my mouth, “Rowan, what the hell?” I almost shouted.

She looks up at me wide eyed and starts crying and kicking her feet, while waving her arms around smearing shit everywhere. Jesus, I mean it’s oozing from almost every part of her. I reach down to pick her up holding her at arm's length, doing everything I can not to throw up. Why, why, why, does shit like this happen to me; literally? I make it to the bathroom, trying to figure out how in the hell to get the shit covered clothes off her without spreading it around even more.

“What am I going to do with you?” I ask her now that she has stopped crying. At the rate I’m going, I’m about to burst out in tears. At this moment I feel so over my head and lost.

“What the bloody hell is that smell?” I hear Sledge say as he comes through the door gagging.

“In here. I need your help; quick!” I say making a face at Rowan, but trying to keep her from crying again.

“Oh, fuck no!!!!” Sledge says standing in the door of the bathroom, “I’m not getting involved in this shit, no, just no,” he says getting ready to back away.

“Don’t you fucking dare leave me. You are bringing your ass in here to help. You say you want us, well this is part of that,” I say looking over my shoulder. I swear, if I didn’t have my arms filled with a baby and shit, I would stab this man.

Sledge lets out a sigh and starts stripping out of his shirt, “That is not exactly what I meant. Sledge, we need to strip her and get her in the bath,” I say distracted by his chest. Then I get hit with another vomit inducing smell and I’m back on track.

“I know,” he says coming around me in just his boxer briefs.

“Hold her still. I don’t want to hurt her,” he says holding up a pair of scissors. “I’m going to cut her outfit off so we don’t spread this on her face since it’s fucking everywhere. Don’t move,” he says pulling Rowan’s onesie away from her body.

Once we get it all cut off, he turns the shower on and steps inside after the water warms up. I walk over and hand her to him and I’m shocked when he takes her without a fuss.
