Meet the teacher is another time when people who aren't familiar with the equipment are there. I always ask people to be safe when younger siblings come in and to keep an eye on them. The tables are well made and heavy, and they need to be treated with respect. If a young child, who is unfamiliar with them, doesn't know what it does, they could fall off and hurt themselves. It would be their fault, but we don't want that to happen.

One thing I will do differently this year is to create mini-posters of a student utilizing the desk for each table or station. It will be a quick way for the new students (and their siblings) to get acquainted with them and see how they should use them properly. Of course, I will laminate them to use the first few weeks of school or when we have a new student.
