Feyshot

The weight of what was happening weighed heavy on Terwyn Collins', aka Feyshot's soul. It was a huge responsibility, and he realized that he was only part of a larger war that was beginning. He was here fighting the incursion of the Aquillians in the US, while at home the Royal Air Force was battling them in the skies over Feyhold. The world was not going to be the same after today.

He had no idea that Bloodwing had enough faith in him to put him in charge of the mission to rescue xyr father. That faith left the fey boy with a grim determination not the disappoint his Vaengi-hybrid friend. Nodding to the others, he reached out and touched Howler on the shoulder as the two of them stepped between realities to the land of Fairy. Here the Spring desert around them was wilder, more rugged, and the winds and heat beat down on them with a fierceness that was unmatched by its counterpart in the mortal world. Here, the Aquillians couldn't see them coming.

Concentrating on the path before them, Feyshot called upon the heritage of his blood and contracted the space around them so that they covered the mile and a half to the structure that was but an outline of itself in this world, in just a few steps. When they reached it, he released the veil around them and they slid back into the mortal realm, just in time for Howler to knock him to the ground as the high-pitched scream of the Aquillians' weapons filled the air.

Rolling to his feet, he saw the energy of the blast pick up seven foot of armored Daeoni Moontyri and slam him through the now brittle walls of the structure. Pulling an arrow from the quiver over his shoulder, he drew his bow, and took aim at the rising form of one of the winged soldiers from the side of the structure.

Releasing the arrow, he watched it fly, knowing it was going to hit his target as it left the bow. Touching a pattern on his mail shirt, he watched the world waver around him as he became as invisible as Bloodwing in stealth mode. More so, since his invisibility wasn't limited to five minutes.

Drawing another arrow, he glanced in the direction of his last one to see the Aquillian already falling to the earth, his flesh now transformed to granite. The soldier made a nice hole in the sand just before his arm and one of his legs broke off.

From the corner of his eye, he saw Howler roll to his feet and deploy the sharp claws on his hands from beneath the armor. This time, the Aquillians were going to feel the wolf's claws and it was not going to be pleasant.

Explosions rocked the inside of the installation as it disgorged a flight of more winged soldiers in Bloodwing and Gravitica's direction. “They're on their way, friends,” he said quietly to himself.

“I'll relay that,” Mindfire said, stepping up next to him.
