Chapter Seventeen
Everett collapsed onto his forearms, body trembling from the exertion while a multitude of emotions washed over, many of them he wanted to ignore for a while longer. Heâd known last night that things between him and Aliya had started to stray into the realm of permanence, one where wedding bells and his mother dropping not so subtle hints of her desire for grandchildren would become a large part of his future. But heâd also scoffed at the thoughts then, shoved them aside like the pesky problem they were, and hoped they went away, because Aliya kept secrets close to her chestânot like he didnât as wellâand he couldnât give into the emotions driven by his heart when her reason for deceiving him was still unknown.
Not that Everett didnât have his suspicions... and once they were confirmed he wouldnât hesitate to use the information to his advantage. He still wanted Sutton Designs. Still wanted to snag their reputation and designers for himself, turning House of Bolton into the premier fashion house that could challenge any of the luxury fashion lines that were imported each year from Europe. The finer details of the fashion industry might still allude him, but Everett knew business, and he knew people.
But none of that helped him right now.
Chuckling softly, he pulled out of Aliya and disposed of the condom before slumping onto his chair. He didnât bother to tidy himself up when even the thought of zipping up his pants felt like too much effort.
âYou doing okay up there?â
Aliya herself had barely moved from where she lay sprawled on top of his desk and Everett struggled to drag his gaze away from her, the rise and fall of her breasts with each ragged breath she took hypnotic.
âI think so,â she replied breathlessly. âBut Iâve got one problem-â propping herself up and half-heartedly glaring at him â-youâre not that gentle on clothes... and weâre still at work.â
âIsnât that two problems?â
âNo. I have no qualms about fucking at work, not like the boss is going to sack me for it. Clothing on the other hand-â gesturing at the remains of her underwear and the blouse that was now short a few buttons â-makes leaving your office a little harder.â
Everett shrugged. âIâll replace it... and maybe I donât want you to leave. We could always go another round... or two,â he said with a smirk, running a hand up her thigh and brushing a thumb across her clit eliciting a soft whimper from Aliya that saw his cock twitch.
âEverett,â she hissed. âWe canât stay locked up in here indefinitely... so Iâm going to need some new clothes.â Aliya hopped off the desk, forcing Everett to roll his chair back, and tugged at her skirt until was no longer bunched around her waist. He mourned the loss of the beautiful view and itched to rid her of it completely.
But as loathed as he was to admit it, Aliya was right. He rose from his chair, tucked his cock away and straightened his own clothes the best that he could.
