I pulled out the necessary number of airboards from my inventory, and we began making our way to the castle.

On my airboard was Sylphy, Melty, Madame Zamil, Elen, Amalie, and Ira, who we picked up on our way over. The rest of the church folk were riding on another airboard. Guard captain Gustaav was walking with Sir Leonard to the castle.

As soon as I started driving, Elen began to speak, her face as expressionless as ever. “I was quite surprised, you know. If I am to be honest, I was rather concerned when I saw the numbers you arrived with.”

Er, Amalie was with us, so was it really such a good idea to show concern for us and not the Holy Kingdom’s forces?

“With the power Kousuke has been given, those numbers were nothing,” Sylphy told her. “But are you really sure you should be speaking like this?”

I glanced at the backseat through the back mirror to see Elen nodding her head as if she had no concerns at all. Next to her was Amalie, who looked extremely lost and confused. She turned her head to stare at me through the back mirror.

I don’t know what Elen told her about me, but I imagined it was that she was cooperating with me, the Fabled Visitor.

I doubt she expected that I belonged to the rebel forces.

“U-um, Lady Eleonora?” Amalie asked. “What is going on?”

“I’ve been cooperating with the Liberation Army.”

“Wha…?!”

“Kousuke brought us the old scriptures, but he himself has always been a member of the Liberation Army. He saved me by complete chance, and as I cared for him, he revealed his allegiances to me. I’ve been communicating with them ever since through the slimes that live in the castle.”

Amalie was so pale that she looked like she was on the verge of passing out. I understood the feeling. Amalie was a pure and virtuous citizen of the Holy Kingdom and a follower of Adolism, and she had just discovered that the saint she served had been cooperating with the enemy. This must have been a nightmare to her.

“But the reason I have sided with the Liberation Army—or, more specifically, with Kousuke—is because of a divine revelation. I told you about what our Lord told me, right?”

“Th-then, you mean the murders of Captain Balto and the others…”

“Well, that wasn’t intentional,” Elen said. “Though I suppose I did taunt them a bit.”

You did?!

“It was a truly fortuna—hmm, an unfortunate fate he met.”

I wish she’d at least try to pretend she felt bad. She clearly looked like she was guilty! She wasn’t acting the part of the saint whatsoever! Amalie was on the verge of collapse!

Sylphy glared at Elen. “You’re supposed to be a saint? Are the followers of Adolism blind?”

Sitting next to her, Ira had also narrowed her large eye. Melty, on the other hand, was all smiles. I had the feeling she and Elen would get along great.

“In an organization of only a few thousand, perhaps everyone can get along,” Elen said.
