Chapter Twenty-One

Hammer

Fuck, she was so tiny, especially compared to Hammer’s bulk.

He was huge, a fucking monster, and he didn’t deserve this—her. Yet their minds had become one in the chamber, and he knew what she felt for him. Just like she knew what he felt for her.

That was going to take some getting used to.

And the emotional thing. Jerking off in the shower, he’d never come so fucking hard in his life. It wasn’t until he thought about it later, that Hammer realised her orgasm had only amplified his own.

That would definitely take some getting used to. Especially if she was with someone else.

Because he hadn’t missed those thoughts either.

Jacinta wasn’t just attracted to him, she felt something for Bowie too, and Doc.

Now that he knew her, Hammer couldn’t deny her anything. She’d been through enough shit in her life already. The memories of her upbringing made him want to simultaneously puke and rip someone’s head off.

She’d been through so much in such a short lifespan already, and yet she wasn’t bitter or twisted or fucked up. Yeah, she had issues, but she wasn’t dark. She was exactly the opposite. Jacinta was light. Pure light.

“You’re all over the place,” the woman in question said, startling him.

“What?”

“Your emotions, whatever you’re thinking, your emotions are everywhere,” she explained.

“You can feel me?”

Jacinta rolled her eyes at him. “Of course I can feel you. I thought we established that already.” Her cheeks turned a pretty shade of pink.

“No, I mean, without thinking about it, without, I dunno, reaching for it. You know what I’m feeling?”

She thought about it for a minute.

“Well, now that you say it, no. You were staring off into space, and I wondered what you were thinking, and then I could feel it. So, I kind of um, snooped, I guess. It was pretty intense. I mean, not like—”

This time her face went from pink to scarlet.

Hammer could feel the heat rising in his own cheeks, but it wasn’t the only thing that was rising.

He squirmed on the bed, pulling one leg up to make the blankets tent around his lap a little. The last thing she needed from him was pressure. No. Hammer wanted to take this slowly. Their mental relationship might have just catapulted a hundred miles an hour, but he still wanted to do this in a more traditional manner.

As far as Hammer was concerned, Jacinta was not a foregone conclusion.

“Just so you know,” she told him. “I can feel that too.”

Well, fuck. So much for being discreet.

“Look, Kitten,” he said. “I’m not taking us for granted. What we have now, what we know—that’s special. It means something to me. I want you to know what you mean to me.”

Jacinta leaned forward and picked up his hand where it had been toying with the blanket. “Hammer. I was there, I know what you feel for me.”

He shook his head. “Yeah, but you don’t know where my mind has gone since then.”

He could feel the shock slam through her, even as she dropped his hand and withdrew.
