“We the jury find for all of the Defendants”: The Verdicts

At 5:20 p.m. on March 20, following the judge’s instructions, the jury headed to the deliberation room to reach a verdict. Two days later they returned to the courtroom with their unanimous verdict in all five suits. Again and again the clerk read their decisions aloud.

“We the jury find for all of the Defendants against the Plaintiff, Myrtle Green Burton.”

“We the jury find for all of the Defendants against the Plaintiff, Dale A. Gibbs.”

“We the jury find for all the Defendants against the Plaintiff, Leroy Kenter, Jr.”

“We the jury find for all the Defendants against the Plaintiff, Vernon Weakley.”

“We the jury find for all the Defendants against the Plaintiff, Tuwaine Davis.”
