This was the first time Steele hoped to get his ass kicked in pool. Lucky for him, he had on several extra layers of clothes thanks to the groomsman suit he wore. Earlier, he couldnât wait to take the damn thing off, and he almost did. Heâd thought about replacing it with something more comfortable before Mary came over, but had decided against it. Women liked a man in a suit, and heâd hoped Mary was no different.
Lucky for him, she also wore the same outfit she had on at the wedding. That blue dress. A dress that hugged her every curve and made his knees weak. Heâd been dreaming of taking it off her from the moment heâd laid eyes on her at the back of the church, and he was one hole away from her shedding the whole damn thing. And the way she kissed him in the kitchenâ¦this was one woman who would be dynamic in the bedroom, and she wanted him. His hands grew clammy holding the pool stick. He was ready to put another stick to use.
âLadies first. Please.â He motioned to the table, allowing her to make the break.
âThatâs okay. Iâll let you try your luck first.â She propped on her own pool stick.
âYouâre that confident?â He grabbed the cube chalk and rubbed the top of his stick then positioned himself on the table, ready to break. âYou sure you want to play? We can back out now. I wonât think any less of you.â
Heâd still manage a way to get her naked. No doubt about that.
She leaned beside him and breathed low and throaty in his ear. âBreak the balls, Blake. Iâm ready to see more of you.â
Oh, damn. His shaft constricted against his suit pants. She was about to break his balls if something didnât happen between them and soon. He pulled his stick back and made his shot. The striped nine fell into the side pocket. He stood tall, assessing her calm veneer as she leaned against the wall. âIt looks like that dress is going to have to come off.â
She rolled her eyes and kicked off one shoe. âYouâre getting ahead of yourself, Blake.â
âMaybe so, but you canât play pool in one heel. You might as well take them both off, sugar. Canât have you limping around the table.â
She rolled her eyes again and kicked off her second shoe. A tease of her light pink toenails peered back at him. âTake your next shot.â
He strutted around the board, scanning for his second shot. Two balls lined up right for a corner pocket. If he made both, that would be two items sheâd have to remove and this silly game could be over, and the one he wanted to play could begin. âThose two, corner pocket.â
She propped her hand on the table, her chest at his eye level. âGood luck,â she whispered in his ear as he reared back to make his shot, her breast nearly grazing his arm. The action
