I had learned from Magic 101 that this was the point. Back in the early days, witches used what was available to them. It wasn’t about going out and finding rare artifacts. Instead, witches used what they had on hand. It was no different today.

While modern technology may have made some items more easily accessible and the New Age trendiness had made some witchy items more popular, the simplest answer was still usually the right one.

This made it a more Equal Opportunity activity than most of what I had experienced at my other boarding schools. These were schools for the wealthy elite, and they made sure you knew it. Everything was exclusive, expensive, hard to find, hard to get into, and limiting by nature.
