Inkspew Abomination (Lv. 3)

Level 3?! Jason’s eyes widened in surprise. What the hell? It was Level 1 when he’d last been here. Now it had gotten much stronger. Level 3… Jason thought in disbelief. Jason himself had only just managed to get to Level 3.

And it wasn’t just a semantic difference.

This Inkspew Abomination was faster—much faster. Its stubby little legs still weren’t giving it much control, but the sheer force that it could launch itself in a direction was staggering. After shooting itself into the walkway, it turned rapidly and shot itself in another direction with a sudden whumph. It zigged and zagged, becoming a black smudge against the stark blue of the carpets.

And it was zigging and zagging toward them.

Jason and Carl both scrambled, startled by the sudden movement. Neither of them were retreating, though. Carl hastily raised his gun and blasted off two shots in quick succession—both missing, chewing into the carpet and ricocheting off. Jason, too, attacked: he strode forward, longsword raised, and swiped it at the Inkspew Abomination.

But this beast was far more nimble than the Inkspew Abomination that Jason had fought before. As Jason swept his sword across the walkway, the printer-monster sprang up and over his blade, landing with a loud clunk.

And before Jason could react, it shot toward him, bounding up at his face.

The printer crashed into Jason’s face, its wide-open maw whirring and buzzing even more fervently. In an instant, dozens of wires sprang from the monster’s rectangular form and clutched onto Jason tightly—so tightly and so rapidly, in fact, that Jason felt his arms and back bruise at that moment. The Inkspew Abomination pulled his face closer and closer to its whirring maw, splatters of ink hitting his face as the monster salivated.
