Chapter Twelve

When I awoke, my body was on fire. My nipples were hard, and the space between my legs felt moist. I slowly opened my eyes as the daylight warmed my face, and my body’s needs became too demanding to ignore. I moaned as I stretched. Had I ever awoken this aroused before? As I stretched, I realized I had wrapped half my body around something very warm and solid. I blinked a few times and glanced at the object I was cuddling with.

“Good morning,” a deep voice said.

I sat straight up, feeling disoriented. I looked at Rylan who had his hands behind his head, lying next to me bare-chested, and staring at me with amusement. How was it possible to look that good in the morning? It wasn’t fair. I couldn’t help but feast my eyes on his body. My own body hungered, and it wasn’t food it was looking for. After a good long, unabashed look at his chest and abs, my eyes went back to his face. The amusement was gone, and he stared intensely at me.

“Do not look at me like that,” he said firmly, and I knew I needed to listen to him, but I couldn’t help it. I felt rebellious.

I looked back down at his chest. His pink nipples looked so delicious; my mouth watered. Without any warning, I leaned down and licked the nearest one. His whole body stiffened, and I smiled. I did it again, and this time I took his nipple in my mouth and let my tongue tease it. A growl vibrated through Rylan’s chest, and I smiled in excitement. As I played with his nipple with my mouth, I took my hand and ran my fingertips over the thick, tight muscles of his chest and stomach. He growled again, and I could feel myself growing even more aroused. I let go of his nipple and planted kisses across his chest as I made my way over to the other one.

Before I got to the second nipple, Rylan grabbed a handful of my curls and gently tugged on them, pulling me upwards. He glared at me, his mouth set in a grim line. Instead of being discouraged, I smiled mischievously. Before he could tell me to stop, I planted a playful kiss on those lips. I leaned my hips into his body, and with the way my legs were wrapped around him, I found that his hip could apply just enough pressure in between my legs to be enjoyable. I moaned in pleasure.

Suddenly, Rylan moved. I found myself pinned under his body, my arms locked in his grasp above my head. Breathlessly, I stared up at him. How the hell did he just do that? He looked down at me with a warm twinkle in his eyes, and I grinned. He leaned down and kissed me. My heart somersaulted as our lips met. I opened my mouth, and he took the invitation without hesitation.

I wanted more than just his kiss. The desire coursing through my veins was demanding and needed to be sated.
