Yes, I drove Marty to the bowling alley, but it wasn’t totally about the fries. I remembered my feeling that he was lying about the dictionaries and going out to lunch with him would be a perfect way to dig the truth out of him.

I had gone without for the past few days, and it had been like torture. The worst part was that I wasn't any thinner, as far as I could tell.

So, what would eating a few French fries hurt? It would make me feel happier, and with happiness I would probably lose weight.

At least, that's the excuse I was going to give if anyone gave me crap about it.
