Chapter Twenty-Nine
Louisaâs life was in San Francisco now. She shared her apartment only with Ziggy, her feline. Philippe, her boyfriend was a regular visitor. Sheâd only introduced him to a handful of her friends, and those who had met him had instantly teased her for being a âcradle snatcherâ.
âSo itâs just sex, is it?â one of them had asked.
âNo ⦠and yes,â Louisa had replied.
Philippe made her happy. He massaged her toes, and she liked the feel of his young, unwrinkled skin against hers. He didnât have any of the bitterness that came with age and experience. He was free, unburdened. Louisa didnât question why he was with her. He was and that was all that mattered.
She wanted him the first time she saw him: when he walked into her Wednesday afternoon tutorial group five months earlier, at the start of the semester. He was late. Late and laughing, acting like everyone else in the room had just missed out on hearing the funniest joke. She kept her eye on him. It helped that he had a toned, muscular surferâs physique (those arms!), sun-bleached blond hair and a cheeky broad smile. He was late to other classes too but was always beaming and full of energy. How did people get to be that sparky? Louisa blamed his youth. Occasionally, heâd disrupted the class with his antics, but she never cautioned him because he was a good student, and his assignments were always handed in on time.
In October last year, however, he handed in a truly drab piece of research. There was nothing to it; it was transparent and juvenile. Louisa had failed him. To his credit, heâd come to see her in her office that same afternoon.
âPhilippe,â sheâd said, âyou can do better than this.â
Heâd grinned at her. âReally? Can you teach me? I donât have any experience, but Iâm a quick study. If you want me, Iâm available.â
Louisa didnât need to be asked twice. Sheâd locked the door and banged him on her desk right then and there. Sheâd never done it on a desk before. It was exhilarating. Theyâd been so frenzied, there was little time for foreplay. Heâd whipped out his erect cock, Louisa gasping at the sheer thrill and decadence of it, and that was that!
Eventually, theyâd moved from the desk to the carpet, and again the sex had been hurried, hungry.
Despite knowing she was risking her professional reputation, not to mention making a complete fool of herself with a student, Louisa had invited him back to her place.
âI can be there in thirty minutes,â heâd said, tucking himself in and zipping up his jeans.
âBetter make it an hour,â sheâd replied, doing her best to sound casual.
Fifty-seven minutes later when she buzzed him in, just on dusk, theyâd barely made it to her bed, kissing, pulling and tugging at each otherâs clothes as if they might never see each other again â which was the way Louisa usually played her sex life.
When Philippe ripped off his T-shirt, sheâd marvelled at his muscled chest.
