Counsel & Might

We now turn to the paired branches of the Spirit of Counsel and Might. Might (or power ) works together with Counsel in a dynamic way. Flowing together in these two unctions is the ticket for walking in miracles, signs and wonders on a regular basis.

Before we even begin to define these two virtues, I want you to understand that counsel releases might . Whenever God counsels us to say, pray or do a thing, you can rest assured that He will follow it up with power. Counsel is simply advice, instruction, guidance or directive leading from God. Many, many people have received prophetic words or directives from God. But not everyone steps into those words or acts on them. Many people have reams of notebooks at home, full of prophetic words, visions and dreams – yet they never took a step of faith to move into those words. Whenever a person acts on counsel, God fulfills the word with power.

In our healing meetings, I have learned over the years to operate comfortably in counsel and might. If God whispers a word or a thought into my mind about a certain sickness – for instance a deaf right ear – then I know to act on the word. I either call out the word, lay hands on the person, or simply proclaim that the healing is taking place. It doesn’t always matter what I do, as long as I have faith to believe the word of counsel that was given to me.

When I believe the counsel enough to act on it, God always responds with mighty miracle power. He responds not to my actions, but my faith. To this day, we have seen cancers fall off bodies, dozens of deaf ears open, blind eyes open and tumors disappear. We have seen God create gold, silver and new white teeth in people’s mouths. We have watched as metal pins, plates and rods have disappeared from bodies. We regularly see weight-loss miracles take place, where people lose fifteen, thirty at times even up to eighty pounds supernaturally! It is amazing to see God move in power. But it usually happens by responding to counsel.

The next time you are in the grocery store, pay attention to the counsel of God. If you hear God tell you to pray for someone in a wheelchair, don’t just file the prophetic word away. By faith, you should act on it. By following counsel will you see a miracle of might take place. Might is the manifestation of God’s power. It is miracle-working power. It is His dunamis or kratos power that makes invisible realities pop into the natural realm. The Spirit of Might is miracle oil.

+ Revival at Wal-Mart

A young man from Wisconsin named Ethan recently attended one of our meetings, as I was talking about getting inebriated in the Presence of God and working miracles in Wal-Mart. Ethan was a teenager, and had never done anything like this before. So he decided to take a stroll into Wal-Mart on his own and see what the Lord would do for him.
