JAKE STOOD IN FRONT of his bookcase the next morning in confusion. What do you wear on a day like today? Not that he had a whole lot of choices. Two of the shelves held his clothes, all folded up and ready to be worn. Several pairs of jeans, both black and blue in color, a few t-shirts, a couple of black sweatshirts with his company's logo on them, underwear, and socks. Hanging from a hook upstairs near his Murphy bed was a garment bag with his dressier clothes. One plain black suit, two button-up dress shirts, and a pair of khakis that didn't do well with folding.

His entire wardrobe in a nutshell. Good thing the facility had a laundry room readily available.

In a way, that made the choice easier in the end. He pulled out a pair of black jeans and one of his company's sweatshirts and put them on in record time. Jake hadn't taken the time to weatherproof the windows and the wind was gusty today.

Probably brewing up a snow or something. Which reminded him. He really should listen to the radio on the way into the city. It was good to know about weather warnings ahead of time. Not that he wasn't prepared for just about anything that nature might throw at them.

He was. His scout training still had a good hold on him even after all these years. Of course, the Rangers had added to that. Scout training on steroids, that.

Still, some of the trainers here weren't as self-sufficient. Of course, they probably listened to the news a bit more too. They would know if a storm was brewing. Unfortunately, rather than tell him about it, they would also just assume he already knew.

Jake smiled. Maybe he'd get snowbound at Max's apartment. He could think of worse places to get stuck. But not a single better one came to mind.

He picked up his car keys and made a quick side trip to check on his dogs before leaving. On the way back to his car he glanced up at the sky. It did look rather ominous this morning. The radio came on shortly after starting up his vehicle and yes, the newscasters were all talking about the weather headed their way.

According to them, it wasn't due to hit until late tonight. Damn. No getting snowed in with the cute biker. Unless he could come up with a reason to spend the night. But that would probably be pushing it. It wouldn't do to take advantage of a man's cry for help.

After the help had been dispensed, though, and Samson was back at one hundred percent himself, all bets were off. Unless things changed between now and then, he'd be making his move at that point.

Hopefully, he could find the time in between to give his little home a thorough cleaning. Wouldn't want to scare the man off first thing with his messy ways.

He made one stop to pick up some supplies and then pulled up in front of Max's front door.
