Method: Using rubber cement, coat the back of one play-money bill at each end in the shaded areas shown in Figure 162. Trim the border away from another bill, Figure 162. Fasten the borderless bill to the treated side of the other bill. Properly done, the preparation cannot be detected when the bill is shown front and back. The prepared bill can be carried in the wallet along with a matching unprepared play-money bill.

To perform, rub the prepared bill on the jacket sleeve. Place it, prepared side down, on the table. Rub the borrowed bill on the jacket sleeve.

Place the unprepared bill on top of the prepared bill. Lift the unprepared bill. The prepared bill remains on the table.

Rub the unprepared bill on the sleeve again as you remark you have not generated enough static electricity. Then slide this bill between the two pasted bills as shown in the exposed view of Figure 163. The right hand, grasping the prepared bill, can then lift both bills off the table as if they were clinging to one another.

Repeat the trick once or twice, aligning the bills at different angles. Then pocket the prepared bill. If the spectator wants to try it, remove an unprepared bill from the pocket and hand it over.
