How to feel more satisfied and improve your self-esteem? Here are some strategies that can help you increase your sense of satisfaction.

Our way of seeing ourselves and the world, or our beliefs, influences the way we react to external events and internal situations (moods and emotions). It is clear how important it is to have a functional and adequate way of thinking in interpreting and reading what happens to us.

Let's take an example.

If following a business failure, I think I am a failure, that I am not able to do anything, that I am worthless and will never achieve anything in life, I will feel very sad, depressed and maybe even angry with myself, with my boss, colleagues. The behavioral consequence will be that of closing down, becoming apathetic and not engaging in work and life in general or being very nervous.

Alternatively, if I read the event as a circumscribed and specific personal error that does not affect my personal value (I continue to be valid despite my job failure) or my professional skills, my mood will be very different from that above. Yes of course, I will feel sad about the situation but also eager to do better next time.
