The Funkster’s Funky Fact #9: The longest one syllable word in the English language is “screeched.”

I was in a total twist by the time I got back to my room, and my mind was racing a mile a minute, trying to think of a way out of this. Pablo was inside my LEGO castle, where he likes to hang out in the turret and pretend he’s a guard.

“Who goes there?” he said when I tapped on the turret with my finger.

“We’re in trouble, Pablo. Knock off the castle talk.”

He stuck his head out the window, and I noticed that he was wearing a breast plate and holding a shield that he had swiped from one of my LEGO guys.

“Do you bring word from the king?” he asked. “How goes my lord?”

“Give it up, Pabs,” I said. “This is serious.”

“Methinks I understand,” he said. “I shall open the drawbridge and make you welcome.”

He climbed down the circular stairs of the turret and arrived at the castle gate. Turning the little crank, he lowered the drawbridge and walked out. I noticed he had taken off his costume and put down his shield.

“What’s up, pup?” he said.

“We’re too late,” I told him. “Lark posted your video on her website.”

“You sure, bro?”

“That’s what she said.”

We went on my computer to check things out. Sure enough, when we went to Lark’s website, there it was—the video of Pablo singing in front of the Hollywood sign, followed by the coverage of Robin’s volleyball match.

“Man, do I look cool or what?” Pablo said. “Let’s show Granny. She’ll be so proud.”

“Are you kidding? She’ll be furious. No one is supposed to know about you, Pabs. Now everyone can see you.”

“Who’s everyone?” he said. “Come on, dude. We both know that no one looks at Lark’s blog except Lark. And if there happens to be one or two Lark fans who see it, you can just tell them it was you, horsing around. We’re identical, remember?”

“Right. And how do I explain the fact that I’m one inch tall?”

“You’re smart, bro. You’ll figure something out.”
