Try five to ten minutes of generic meditation daily where you simply repeat a mantra like “one” over and over. (This clears your mind of circling and worrisome thoughts, again creating a new cellular memory of safety and relaxation.)

Be aware of how you criticize yourself and ask God to help you let such criticisms go.

Choose each morning to lighten up on yourself for two hours. Even fifteen minutes will help tremendously.

Wear a blue-based red (it’s very grounding and calms you).

If letting go of your self-criticism feels too hard, consider following a tried-and-true method I am borrowing and revamping from Alcoholics Anonymous: admit that you feel powerless to stop your self-criticism and ask God to help you.
