Climbing higher: Level 2
If you aspire to coach rugby at a senior level, Level 2 is the next step. You must have a Level 1 certificate, plus one yearâs coaching experience, before you can take the course.
The Level 2 course is run over four days and involves extensive study at home. You are taught all aspects of the game, including tactical play and how to assess the opposition. The course also covers sports science, including ways to enhance player fitness, power, and endurance. In addition, you gain further insights into the role of the coach.
Naturally, the examination you take at the end of the Level 2 course requires you to have more extensive and detailed knowledge than you did for the Level 1 exam. Again, the focus is on the laws and safety. When you pass the Level 2 examination, you are presented with your Level 2 certificate.
