His scent lingered within the hallways. It was a toxic odour which burnt my nose. Rolling over on my stomach on the soft grass, I inhaled the fresh clean air which had not been infected by Prince Connor's scent. Closing my eyes, I let the sunlight sink into my exposed skin. It had been a week since my attack. I had healed and I was now more determined than ever to never be placed in a similar situation; I was over being a damsel.
Rolling over again on my back and keeping my eyes closed. I let out a deep sigh.
"I can't believe your eighteen in three months." Chase said as he threw himself on the ground next to me.
I smiled slightly, "I was enjoying being on my own."
I heard him chuckle; "Over my company are we?"
I could honestly say I was. I was sick to death of been locked in Liam's room under the watch of Chase or Liam. Why they took shielding me from Prince Connor so seriously, I did not know.
"You have no idea." I moved to my side and place my elbow under my head as my eyes fluttered open. "What are you doing outside anyway?"
He let out a sigh before falling back into the soft grass; "I think your father is up to something," he closed his eyes and enjoyed the sunlight.
"Like?"
"I don't know, something."
"Something like?"
"He has been on the phone for days to someone and now. . ." Chase shifted to his side to face. "He wants to see you and I have a feeling it has something to do with Prince Protective."
I let out an annoyed sigh. Why did Connor stay here anyway, his company was not wanted, well at least I didn't want it?
"I am sure it's nothing."
Chase grunted, "Wouldn't be too sure about that Is. I heard your dad ask one of the maids to pack your bags."
I bolted up from the soft grass.
"What?
" Chase followed suit and brought himself to a seating position, as he witnessed my sudden surprise by his words.
"Your bags are packed, I don't know why." He brought his legs up and loosely placed his hands around them; "And I don't know where are you going."
Turning around and crossing my legs under me. As I faced his side.
"Are you not meant to be telling me this?" I asked as I cocked my head to the side.
He shook his head, "Nope, just told to fetch you."
Sighing, I ran my fingers through my hair. As I debated where my father was sending me, surely it was not to do with my safety.
"What makes you think Prince Griffin has anything to do with it?" I asked.
Chase smirked as he turned his head slightly to face me; "Because his bags were lying next to yours."
I groaned and brought my head down to my hands.
"Great!"
"Yeah, I thought you deserved a heads up." He laughed as he pulled himself up to stand over me. "Come on Princess, your father calls." He shot a hand out for me to take.
