Orvinth sipped from the cup of lukewarm tea contemplatively. It had been his third cup, and he still couldn’t decide if he preferred it cold after all. He at first stomached it, not fully realizing its temperature until Linara had long left the room, but now it was growing on him. Perhaps he was not clear in his intention. Was this the way they drank tea in the Blackness? To not waste a source of heat, they took to drinking it cold? Surely not.

Though, she had mentioned in the past her inability to feel heat at all. Perhaps she just truly could not tell whether or not the pot was warm enough yet.

Orvinth frowned at the pot. Perhaps, more likely, she just had not figured out how to heat the pot yet in the first place? She seemed so confident in placing the cup in his hand that he hadn’t even questioned it. So confident that she left without a second thought, as if she accomplished her goal, after all.

It really was no matter. He did not expect her to make any sort of progress in even a month. He took another sip of the cold tea and grimaced. No. Cold tea was not very preferable at all.
