For three days and nights, Erin stays by my side. Having her hold me through the night increases my healing substantially. Now, though, she is getting irritated with me. She wants me to tell her the truth, but Iâm not ready.
âOkay, youâve finished brunch and youâve had an hour sunbathing,â Erin begins, her tone curt. We are still at my parentsâ house. âYouâre obviously feeling better, so itâs time to talk.â
Sitting up from my position on the sun lounger, I prepare myself. âOkay.â Erin seems a little surprised Iâve agreed. âYouâre right. I donât have an ulcer. I do have aâ¦â What? Disease? Virus? ââ¦health issue that is rare. The injections help but arenât a cure.â
âIs there a cure?â
âNot as yet. But Dr. Mendhi is positive he is close.â
âWhy do I feel youâre still lying to me?â Christ.
âErin, I know I scared you, and I canât promise I wonât fall ill again. But I donât want our relationship to be all about it. Weâve gone on a handful of dates. I want to concentrate on that, on us.â
âIâm not going to push you, Amelia. But, if you want there to be an us, you have to trust me.â
âPlease trust me that, in time, I will tell you everything. Please, Erin, just let me have this time with you.â I scoot closer to her, my face pleading.
âFine,â she grumbles, but itâs playful. I smile widely, taking her face in my hands and kissing her breathless.
âWant to take a nap with me?â My voice is silky smooth. I have no intention of napping. My libido is through the roof.
âAre you trying to take advantage of me, Ms. Loch?â God, I love it when she says my name like that.
âWell, weâve had three dates. Arenât you supposed to put out now?â That earns me a smack upside the head.
âThatâs no way to charm a lady into bed, Amelia.â
âHow about the floor? Couch? Oh, kitchen worktop. You wouldnât believe the things I could do to you on that!â Her eyes widen and her nose flares. Yeah, sheâs as turned on as me. Weâve been fighting this for a while now. Iâm almost positive that if I hadnât had that unfortunate bloody episode, we would have been with each other physically that night.
âWhere are your many family members?â she asks against my lips.
âThey took the boat out for the day,â I reply, taking her bottom lip between my teeth.
Erin moves with such speed Iâm almost bowled over. Straddling my thighs, I hold her close with my hands planted firmly on her ass. The kiss we share is far from sweet. It is demanding and forceful. Clearly Erin is as frustrated as me.
Weâre only dressed in bikinis, so stripping Erin down to her delicious skin will take me seconds. However, I want to savor her, trace every inch of her body as she pushes into me, her pussy seeking purchase through her scanty swimwear.
Erin has her hands in my hair. The gentle scrape of her nails is driving me wild.
