CHAPTER 12
Charleston clung onto Augustaâs fit sexy body for dear life as they zoomed over all of wonderful Lordigo towards the Octogi border.
As the strange dragon zoomed through the air, Charleston seriously wasnât sure what the hell they were meant to do. He certainly didnât like the idea of flying about like some strange bird. This wasnât normal but they had a country to save and an evil king to defeat.
Charleston just wished beyond all hope that Owen was okay and his friends and fellow rebels were okay too.
From high above the pitch darkness of Lordigo appeared so alluring and scary and terrifying almost like all of his friends were dead but the burning fields ahead of them told Charleston everything he needed to know. He heard the screams, shouts and smashing of swords together.
And he just knew that the battle was still raging on.
Gracey held him even tighter and as much as Charleston wanted to do the same to Augusta, he really didnât want to be seen as clingy. She was so hot and perfect but he didnât want to be needy.
âCargo take us down,â
Charleston had no idea when she had learnt the dragonâs name but the dragon shook his head.
âNegative ma. Enemy forces are too thick and I cannot make a clear attack run on the Kingâs forces,â
Charleston couldnât believe how well connected they already were after only ten minutes of flying but maybe that was something to do with the bond.
âI have another idea. Get us low enough for my forces to see me,â
âConfirmed,â
Charleston held Augusta tight and loved the feeling of her against him as Cargo banked hard right and descended towards the ground.
The air changed and was filled with hints of death, gunpowder and burnt magic. They certainly werenât in Lordigo land anymore. The enemy had forced its way into Octogi.
Charleston hissed as his feet kicked an enemy soldier in the head.
The entire battle stopped and Cargo landed in a clearing with the enemy Lordigo soldiers in their golden armour and golden swords in front of them. And then there were battered, bruised men and women behind them with shovels and pitchforks.
Charleston was amazed the Octogians had lasted this long. He didnât know if they were lucky or just furious foes on the battlefield.
The entire battle stopped and Augusta stepped off and Charleston followed her taking out his sword to protect her at all costs.
Cargo reared his head as high as he could and Charleston really respected him for that. He was clearly on their side now.
âKing Alfred is a magic user,â Augusta said and Charleston was shocked by the news but he knew she wouldnât lie.
There were little pieces of arguing amongst the enemy but Charleston was glad that some people wanted to listen to her.
âI am Queen Augusta of the Kingdom of Octogi and I do not want this battle to be your last. I want you all to live, serve and protect the people of your kingdom,â
âThis wonât be our last. Weâre going to gut your kingdom,â someone shouted.
