“So, I was thinking you might want to change the color of the tile in the kitchen for the backsplash.” Logan looked extraordinarily good in the light blue t-shirt and dark denim jeans he wore as he rested against the newly constructed counters. The muscles in his arms flexed as he leaned back propping himself up against the counter. His tee shirt seemed to cling to his flat abs and she inhaled deeply thinking about how good they would feel under her fingertips. Shaking herself back to the present, EnVee had dropped in for their weekly meeting at the house and she was pleasantly surprised at just how far they’d come on the downstairs kitchen. She was torn between admiring the beautiful new countertops or his physique. Get back to the task at hand. “The slab of granite you chose for the countertops is a beautiful piece, but once they cut it, the actual part they cut has a lot more dark areas than we originally planned for and less veins of gold.” He moved to stand closer to her and she breathed in sharply at the smell of his cologne and the undeniable masculinity exuding from his pores. Trying desperately to concentrate she kept her eyes trained on the tiles. “I know you have a dark side, but just didn’t think you wanted everything to look like the inside of a coffin.” She looked up to see him grinning at her and she smiled back, relaxing at the familiarity of his wit.

“Well, I try to keep the fangs hidden most of the time,” she retorted. “I see what you mean though.” She surveyed the different tiles they originally picked and even though they were beautiful, she wasn’t really won over by any of them. “Can I be honest?” She turned to look at him and bit her bottom lip.

“I would expect nothing less.”

“None of these are working for me.” She wasn’t sure how he would react, but she didn’t feel any of them would work and she didn’t want to be difficult, but the house had to be perfect.

“I had a feeling you would say that.” He grimaced.

“I hope this isn’t going to throw things off with the schedule, but I just can’t commit to any of these.”

“Okay, well, that means you and I need to head back to the tile store to pick out something you do like so we can get it ordered. Do you have time now? We could possibly get lunch on the way back if you have time? I know the perfect place.” She looked up to see his eyes dancing with what looked like hope.

“Ah, well, I don’t have anything on my calendar this afternoon, so sure,” she said, and he nodded, grabbing his keys. The two headed to his truck and she was happy to know he was just as meticulous about the inside of his truck as he was his office. At least she wouldn’t have to head back to the office with dust and dirt on her.
