Natasha

The next day

“What’s up, girl?”

I jump at the sound of Mia’s voice. I clutch my chest and close my eyes and then reopen and turn to her.

“You scared the crap out of me, Mia,” I say, taking slow deep breaths to slow my heart rate down.

She giggles and takes a seat inside the room.

“Are you on a break?” I ask.

“Yeah, I was coming to ask if you wanted to grab lunch together.”

“Levi said he’ll meet us.”

“Just us three?” I’m wondering if Ben will come along too.

She leans back in the chair. “Yeahhh. Unless you want me to invite a friend. I’d be happy to ask him—”

“No, it’s okay,” I say before she finishes her sentence.

I’m nervous about asking him out today. I just need a moment to calm the butterflies.

“Jeez, you’re awfully jumpy today.”

I shake my head. “Sorry, I haven’t been sleeping much.”

Which is true. The ache between my legs is unbearable. It’s like I unleashed my sex drive with his cock. Not that I’ll be sharing this information with Mia or him. I’m glad he’ll be happy to repeat our romp from the last two days. But that wasn’t all I was running from…

“Same. Must be the weather.”

I grab my purse and jacket. “Yeah. Let’s go, I’m starving.”

We walk out together. Of course, I don’t get far, and I see Ben. If he isn’t on my mind, he’s right here in front of me. All I do is think about him, and I’ve got no place to hide while working here with him.

We pass him talking to another player. His gaze meets mine. I watch his Adam’s apple bobble, and I tingle. The heat from one look between us is too much for me to think about right now. I dart my gaze to the door and don’t stop until I hit the fresh air and gasp. Welcoming the fresh cool air in my lungs and body, there’s no need for the jacket now. I’m burning up.

“Ben wants you baddd,” Mia says behind me.

And it seems I want him too.

I squeeze my eyes shut, trying to block her out for a minute while I recover from my body’s reaction to him.

“What do you mean?” I ask, unsure if she saw our exchange and not wanting to seem transparent.

“As soon as we walked out of the office, he watched you, totally ignoring his conversation. He has wanted you since you started here. I’m pretty sure the whole team knows.” She giggles, but I don’t find it funny.
