Chapter Six

Christian could still feel Ward’s lips on his neck even though they were gearing up to run one of the courses. Christian had run the course a thousand times with the team, but it was the first time he’d be doing it on his own. He should be focusing on the task so he could win, but all he kept thinking about was the slow burn Ward had created in his body with just his lips.

Of course, it helped that Christian’s neck had always been a sensitive area for him. Ward instinctively knowing that was yet another thing that made him want to call the whole bet thing off. If he did, he wasn’t sure if he wanted to run for the ferry to get the hell away from Ward or if he wanted to ride Ward’s cock until he felt fucked stupid.

“You never told me what you wanted.” Ward stood beside him, waiting for Dylan to give the final signal. Most of the team stood around him, including Rudy, who grinned at them both as if it were their wedding day instead of a friendly competition.

Christian looked over at Ward’s big body and then down to his crotch area. He smirked when his gaze came back up. Yeah, he could think of a few things he wanted when he won, and that cock was at the top of his list. He didn’t say that, though. Instead of getting himself hitched, he went the easy route and simply said, “I want you to play that guitar you bought the other day.”

Ward nodded. “I’d be happy to, honey. Bet or not.”

“I thought it was sexy when you were playing it in the music store.”

Ward chuckled, as if he knew Christian had been following him the whole time. His next words confirmed it. “Rudy and I would have wanted you to join us. You and Dylan both. Just for future reference.”

“Are you two done chatting? Can we get this thing done? I’m hungry.” Dylan looked at them both impatiently.

“I’ll take you home and feed you soon.” Rudy looked around at everyone. “That goes for the whole team. We’ll do a bonfire or something. It’ll be fun.”

Virion nodded at Rudy, giving him a wink. Christian looked at Ward. “Are you ready, Wolfie?”

One corner of Ward’s mouth turned up in a smile, letting Christian know he didn’t mind the nickname. “Ready, honey.”

Oh, that was so not a fair nickname. It implied they were together, and they weren’t. Not yet. Maybe not ever. Christian narrowed his eyes and pretended he didn’t hear it. “Prepare to lose.”

Ward just chuckled. “So that you know. I’m not going to underestimate you or hold back. I still get phantom pain in my balls enough to know you’re a tough little human.
