Finn’s bedroom is bright when I open my eyes, although there is no direct sunlight coming through the window. I need to pee badly, and it’s not until I attempt to get out of bed that I realize two things: my leg is in a cast and I hurt all over.

Propped against the nightstand are my crutches. Finn must’ve brought them in while I was sleeping, which means he is already awake. Placed under the duck, is a note.

Good Morning.

I didn’t want to wake you. I’m leaving for the gym and then I’ll stop off to pick up some breakfast tacos for us. There’s juice in the fridge and hot coffee. Help yourself to whatever looks good. Call me if you need anything. – PJ
