NINE

As soon as I landed Aeon Dra, I quickly unfastened my seat-belt, and the doors slid open. I flipped out and started falling towards the ground. Sixus held out his arms and caught me.

“Are you trying to kill yourself, Livia?” he inquired, as he gently placed me down on the ground beside him.

“Of course not,” I scoffed as we started walking up the steps of the castle. The knights held open the doors and quickly ushered us inside. “I totally knew you’d catch me.”

“What happened to your neck?” he asked as he gently ran his index finger across it. “Did something happen back there?”

“Nothing I couldn’t handle.” I forced a smile. “I needed to make sure the rest of you got a head start, right?”

“You need a shower,” Holister whispered. “You look terrible, Lady Olivia.”

“You owe me for rescuing all of you from the enemy Elidys,” King Enwyld groaned. “I am so glad my loyal knight has returned home in one piece.”

“Has Queen Pyssyno gone into surgery yet?” Elidys inquired.

“She has lost quite a massive amount of blood,” the king sighed sadly. “I am afraid she will not make it through the night.”

“This war needs to end,” I whispered to nobody in particular. “So they have already shed much bloodshed since I arrived in Tellus.”

“You are the Oracle of Aeon Dra,” King Enwyld stared at me from his throne. “Is my kingdom going to fall because I defied my fellow kinsman?”

“I cannot see the future outcome at the moment, Lord Enwyld,” I sighed heavily. “Why is everyone after me?”

“You are the only one who can bring an end to this pointless war, child,” he went on. “The fate of all of Tellus lies in your hands.” Another knight rushed over to Elidys’ side. He whispered something in his ear, and they glanced at me. He ran back to the door, and I felt my stomach drop.

“Princess Tasia Krado has been killed,” Elidys spoke, looking at me. “The knights of the Stettarenth Empire saw her fall and plummet to her death as she tumbled out of the Aeon Dra.”

“Livia?” Sixus looked stunned by what I had done.

“Look,” I sighed in annoyance. “I was getting ready to leave when she choked me with a metal chain,” I pointed to the bruise that was forming on my neck. “It was her or me.” I added.

“Oh, my Goddess,” King Enwyld shook his head as he placed his fingers across his eyes in disappointment. “My kingdom is going to become a battleground by tomorrow at dawn.”

“The bitch chopped off my five-year-old brother Max’s head!” I spat. “Not to mention she stabbed your mother in front of your little sister and the rest of us.”

“Do you have proof of Princess Tasia’s crimes against you?” the king asked. I stayed silent as I removed my backpack and unzipped it. I placed my hand inside and pulled out Max’s head. Thankfully, the blood had dried. Sort of.

“Is this enough proof for ya?” I asked, tilting my head to one side.
