Chapter 13: Attack from within

Loud music is playing. People in a house are having a party. A guy enters a back room to see a group of people talking. The guy looked lost and out of place in the room. He looks freshly shaved and wearing his best-looking clothes. “Come over here Will,” said the woman, drinking out of a straight bottle of whisky. The woman is in her early thirties, and he found her a little attractive. Will sits down with the group. He is handed a can of bourbon. “Drink this,” said a man. The man was encouraging people that night to get messed up with him. Will takes the can and grabs the can in his hand. Then, takes a sip of it. “I’m happy you came to my party. You have been working too hard,” said the woman next to him. “You see that footage of the cop, shooting that dog for no reason,” said a man across from Will. “Yeah I have. Makes all of us in law enforcement look bad,” said Will. “Doing paperwork all the time has to be boring all the time. Do you ever plan to return to the field?” Asked another man across from Will. “I can't bring myself back to the field since the incident. Maybe I'll do some checking on traffic soon,” replied Will. The woman hands Will a pipe and a lighter and says, “this will relax you”. Will without thinking takes it and puts it in his mouth and lights it. He in-hails to there’s only ash left. Will coughs and the others giggle. “It tastes like weed but, different. Did you guys put something in it?” Asked Will. “Don't be mad, but we put a potent psychedelic in it. Dan did it before,” said the woman next to him. Will is shocked and says, “I have only done weed before, how dare you trick me into doing this,” said Will. He feels scratchiness in his lungs. “This drug will help you Will. We will leave in a sec and you will be alone to enjoy it. It only lasts for 15 minutes and you will have a one in a life time experience you need. You will be fine, just accept what is gonna happen to you. You will thank us when we come back,” said Dan. Will's sight is seeing hallucinations. Everybody except Will leaves the room and they lock the door behind them.
