Idid my best to keep track of the songs. Two tunes, in particular, made my teeth chatter; Pumped Up Kicks and Don’t Fear the Reaper . The crowd sang happily to one and spookily to the other. I sunk into my chair.

The ravens still swirled. They grew larger as they flurried across the stage, marking my boys- Gabe’s boys. Hooting signified the end of the finale. Stone and Bobbie stepped off the stage, and I bolted out the front door.

Before I crumbled, I perched on the curb and put my head between my legs. The cooling humid air smacked me across the face. I began to hyperventilate. Struggling to slow my breathing only made it harder to get a full belly of breath. A high pitch whine squeezed out from my ears as the world spun. I stared at my shoes, forcing my eyes to stay open- staving off the darkness that edged closer.
