•At the Non-clinical level, data are collated at the control center at Iris Hospital, as shown in Figure 8.19. There were three objectives for data collection: surveillance, control, and monitor or measure. The design, development, and implementation of the software module were done in-house, and frugally, with very little capital. Two technical staff per shift man this room 24/7, noting the data displayed in the software module. Following data collection, the algorithm in the software displays the sentinel events and forewarns the operational staff and higher management of any deviation from the forecasted values. For example, a deviation from the forecasted electricity consumption, for any time range, can be viewed from the HIS and management can undertake proactive steps, before things get out of hand.
