Abraham stared at the photo of Fallon in his phone. A part of him wanted to see her, but he was not about to let Fallon believe that he would come running after her every time she had a tantrum.

Outside of the office, he hadn’t seen or spoken to her in a couple of weeks.

He needed to vent so he went to talk to Shadow.

“What can I do for you, Abraham?”

“I have a situation with Fallon.”

Shadow leaned back in his chair. “Is she becoming a problem?”

“No, it’s nothing like that. We just aren’t seeing eye to eye. She wants more than I can give her.”

“I love Sophia. I just want Fallon to stay in her role. She’s good at her job, but there doesn’t need to be any tension, especially here at the church. The last thing I need is drama. I’ve had enough to last a lifetime.”

“I assume you told her all this.”

Abraham nodded. “She broke things off with me. It’s just that she’s bringing it to work with her. I spoke to her this morning in the break room and she just walked out like I hadn’t said a word.”

“Maybe you should let her go,” Shadow suggested. “Problem solved.”

“If I can be honest, the truth is that I can’t get Fallon out of my mind. I enjoy her company. I miss our friendship.”

“It sounds like you may care more about this girl than you realize.”

Shadow’s words gave Abraham pause for thought.
