CHAPTER ELEVEN
âHmmmm,â I hummed groggily before even opening my eyes. âI could get used to this.â
Quade continued to trail soft kisses along my bare shoulder while he slung an arm around my waist and pulled me flush against his body.
âMmmm, mmmmm, mmmmmmmm,â I added. âNow, that I could definitely get used to.â
He chuckled lightly, a sound I felt more than heard as it rumbled through my back. âI thought you would have gotten enough of that last nightâ¦â
I didnât bother to stop the smile that spread across my face at the memory of how exactly weâd shared the hours deep into the night, and all Quade had done to wash away the concern of the many males camped outside, inexplicably waiting to see me again.
âNot sure Iâll ever get enough of you, Q.â
His kisses drifted closer to my spine. When he brushed the hair off the back of my neck, his lips pressed there too.
âGood,â he murmured. âYouâd better not ever get your fill of me. I intend to keep you now that youâre back where you belong again.â
In case I had any doubt as to where he meant, he pulled my hips against evidence of how strong the attraction between us was.
Biting my lip since he wouldnât see the action, I allowed myself to grin like a silly schoolgirl celebrating the affection of her crush. Despite all odds, Iâd found my way back to Gales Haven after decades of absenceâand into the embrace of my first and only true love.
If I didnât have a horde of kooks with dangling shlongs just beyond my window, Iâd be tempted to think Iâd landed in a fairy tale. But while Iâd snagged my prince, I doubted fairyland princesses would be saddled with the role of town detective, and every smelly doo-ty that this nutty town could throw my way.
âYou know,â Quade started before sweeping even more kisses over my skin, leaving tingles in his wake, âthe kids are old enough to get themselves off to school. Nothing says we have to hurry down. Theyâll figure it out eventually and catch the bus without us. I think weâve earned ourselves a little lie-in.â
âOh yeah?â I asked, thinking I sounded coy and flirty. Whether I did or not, who knew? âAnd what, exactly, are you suggesting we fill our time with if we were to ⦠lie-in?â I rolled my l like a sex goddess.
He bucked his hips, eliciting a groan from me that was unintentionally wanton. I had missed the devil out of this manâ¦
âSeems like Iâve got just the thing to fill you up until youâve had all you want.â
Breathy, I nodded. âAh-hah. Though I donât think Iâll ever have all I want.â
Another tilt of his hips, his stiff front grinding into my round behind, he licked a long line of heat along the curve between my neck and shoulder. When he slid his hand from my waist to my breast, cupping the full and heavy flesh, I gasped. He circled a fingertip around my nipple and I arched into him, already beyond words.
