To the ever-expanding list of Things the Rock Can Do, we can now add wedding planner extraordinaire. Despite his blockbuster box office fame, when Dwayne Johnson wed girlfriend of 12 years Lauren Hashian on Kauai, Hawaii, on Aug. 18, he did it his way. “No press, no paparazzi, no noise, nothing lavish or opulent—just us and our family,” the actor wrote in announcing the news to his 158 million Instagram followers. Rather than having a friend stand up with him for the ceremony, he drew upon his Samoan heritage: “My groomsmen and best man were the spirits of my loved ones and ancestors.” It took more than a decade together and the birth of two kids (Jasmine, 3, and Tiana, 18 months) for Johnson, 47, and Hashian, 35, to at last tie the knot. (Plans for a spring wedding in 2018 were postponed after Hashian became pregnant with their second daughter.) But given Johnson’s schedule—he appeared in three 2019 films, including Jumanji, and has another three lined up for 2020—it’s a wonder where he ever found the time.
