Everything Can Change in a Second

Kiana was grateful to Rosa for taking her up to the room made up for her. There would be no sharing rooms unless you were married or at least betrothed in the Waters household.

Who even used the word betrothed these days? Kiana wondered, splashing water on her face after having been violently ill. She wandered through to the bedroom. It was gorgeous, better than any hotel suite Kiana had ever been in. Not that she had been in a lot of hotels, but she and Owen had done a few short holiday weekends away.

Owen? Kiana shook her head. Why had his name popped into her mind? Kiana had nearly forgotten he had even existed in this past week. She had been too caught up in a whirlwind romance with Ronan to even give him a second thought. She opened the cool fresh bottle of water that had been placed on a tray on the dresser. She felt a lot better but still wished her body had not picked this particular week to get the flu.

She took a deep breath, straightened up her outfit, and was heading out of the door when there was a soft knock.

“Who is it?” Kiana called.

“Ronan,” Ronan’s head popped through the door. “Hi.” He said as he snuck in and quietly shut the door behind him. “I needed to see you.” He stepped up to her. “Did you brush your teeth?” He leaned in for a kiss.

“Yes,” Kiana breathed, returning his kiss. “I was feeling a little gritty from the drive.”

“Mmm,” Ronan growled, pulling her closer. “I missed your body curled next to mine the last few nights.” He told her softly; their kiss turned more passionate as Kiana’s arms curled around his neck.

“Your uncle is going to wonder where you are,” Kiana’s voice was gravelly with passion.

“Let him wonder,” Ronan lifted her and walked her over to the bed. “He has taken Hayden, Rosa, and Magda to see the horses.”

“I want to see the horses,” Kiana moaned as Ronan went to work undressing her.

“Mmm,” Ronan said again as Kiana helped him out of his shirt. “We can catch up in a bit.” He said as his body covered hers.
