“Fucking tit.” Devlin nibbled on his bottom lip and rubbed his neck. His eyes darted from side to side and his chest burned. Devlin sucked in air once again and closed his eyes, hoping to find some inner strength. Seeing the message, fear and anger surged through him, but the latter even stronger. No one would threaten Devlin Crawford without him giving some kind of response. “Arsehole.” He pushed the buttons, dialing Ora back. While he waited, he clenched his fists and looked down at the ground underneath his feet.

“Now, you call, you traitor. What you did with him, maricon? And I will find you. I will. That is promise.”

“Yes, I have him, Ora. I got a better offer than yours to hold onto him and keep him alive. Now you have to find me, mate. Catch me if you can.”

Ora laughed. “And I will, Crawford. I will find you, and when I do, I will make sure both of you are killed on sight.”

Devlin drew up his lips. “Try killing me, you bastard. I’ll be ready for it.”

“You fag…”

Devlin crushed it in his hand, snapping it into two pieces. He dropped it on the ground and crushed it even further under his Burberry shoe.

With Ora’s phone shattered, Devlin wouldn’t be hearing from his former employer any time soon. Just the sound of Ora threatening him gave him reason to crush something harmless.

A little less than three weeks and Aiden would be able to tell his side of the story.

Hopefully, Miranda’s idea to go to Quebec would keep them as far away from Ora as possible.
