When Molly Gertrude and Dora entered the spacious dining area with its wide windows that offered a most splendid view of the ocean, most of the guests had already arrived. The place was filled with the happy chatter and laughter so common to a group of people with hungry stomachs who were in eager anticipation of a wonderful meal. As the two friends stepped onto the soft, plush carpet on the floor they marveled, as a splendid scene enfolded before their eyes. A five star restaurant would not have looked any better. The main dining table was richly decorated, complete with elegant flowers artfully arranged in delicate, hand painted vases, and silver candelabra's. The iconic flowery Wedgwood-design of the serving dishes with the side plates would make eating here a culinary experience that neither Molly Gertrude nor Dora had ever experienced, not even in their wildest dreams. Napkins, exquisitely folded, were placed right next to shiny, engraved crystal wine goblets that sparkled in the light and seemed to cry out to be filled and then emptied into the mouths of whoever would touch them. Molly Gertrude and Dora hardly ever drank a glass of wine, but when Dora saw what was before her, she couldn't help but lick her lips and whisper, "Wine is good for seasickness too. That's what Hampus Rosenqvist told me."

"He did, huh?" Molly Gertrude arched her brows. "Don't believe everything he tells you," she whispered back, but she too decided she would have to at least sample whatever it was the crew would serve in those goblets, as she had never before felt the touch of genuine crystal to her lips.

Molly Gertrude couldn't help but wonder what would happen to all that beauty in the event of a typhoon, but Dora gave her little chance to think such thoughts as she exclaimed, "We are blessed, Miss Molly Gertrude. Truly blessed."

As Molly Gertrude beheld the splendor before her, she couldn't help but wonder why she had even been hired in the first place. It appeared Hazel Brick was quite capable of organizing the event herself. Even though there were other guests on the ship, people that had not been invited to the wedding, Hazel had demanded that for the duration of the cruise, the main dining area on the El Vivo would be reserved only for the wedding guests. The others were directed to a small dining area on the far end of the upper deck, still nice, still gorgeous, but nothing like the dining area Hazel Brick had prepared for the wedding guests.

To foster a spirit of camaraderie she had ordered the dining tables to be placed all together in a broken circle. "That way," Hazel said, "we are all close together during mealtime for this monumental month at sea." Name cards had been carefully and strategically placed on the snow white table linen and, also at Hazel's request, these tags would be switched around every meal, thus forcing everyone to mingle in hopes of creating a happy, joyful atmosphere.
