It was an amazing day. I hosted sessions with several of our tabletop games, including Betrayal. We sold our few copies. We sold all our go sets. We ran out of decks of cards, excepting a small number I’d set aside.

Ithronel stopped by. Saria collected me, and I saw the fae queen standing in the center of the shop, looking around. I stepped to her. “What happened to all your games?”

“It’s been a busy day,” I said.

She put on a very, very pleased smile. “You’re a success.”

“We’re a novelty.”

“Oh, I don’t think so. You need to write your father.”

“I know.”

Teriani joined us. “We’ll discuss that tomorrow. Frankly, I’m exhausted.”

“I am catering dinner at Maisie’s,” Ithronel declared. “Bring your household, Teriani. And your mother, Maelyrra.”

“You don’t have to do that.”

“It’s already arranged.” Then she sighed. “Is there anything you can sell me? The twisted game?”

“Twister,” I said. “Nope. They sold in the first hour.”

“Your children’s games sold this well?”

“Yes,” Maelyrra said. “But they weren’t selling as children’s games.” She giggled.

“Maisie is very naughty,” Teriani said. “She wrote little books about the games that can be treated as more adult games. We kept those in the adults section.”

“We were kept busy showing people where the games were they wanted,” Maelyrra added.

“I saved you two decks of cards, but I shouldn’t let you have them,” I said. “Your sister already bought two.”

“Let me buy them for the staff dining room.”

“That we can do.”

We sold her the cards, and then she said she’d wait for me at my home. I think she was going to go arrange the dinner she hadn’t actually previously arranged, but I wasn’t going to accuse her.

A half hour later, we locked the door behind our final guest. Seconds later, Maelyrra was squealing in glee. She bounced over, grabbed me, then bent me over her knee before delivering a scorching kiss. After she stood me back up, Teriani grabbed me and did the same thing. And then I stood, stunned from the two kisses, as she did the same to Maelyrra.

“Partners meeting tomorrow,” Teriani declared. “Maisie, I need you fully on board.”

“I am, but I have my main project, too.”

“Understood. But tell me you’re a full participant.”

“Definitely.”

“Good. Do you think Ithronel has had enough time to arrange dinner?”

I laughed. “No, but we can go collapse.” I raised my voice. “No one is obligated, but we’d like everyone to come. She was serious about your entire household, Teriani.”

“I won’t make it an order,” Teriani said. “One of you go home and invite everyone else.”

“Could I go?” asked Siraye. “Formal?”

“No,” I said. “Casual. And comfortable shoes.”

“I’d like to change, too,” said Shalia.

“Don’t take too long,” Teriani said. “And bring something for me.”

Then, with arms around each other, the three partners stepped back out the door, holding it for the others.
