Chapter Sixteen â Billy
Kennedy stands there, her chin wobbling as I dry her. I guess if I think about it too much, the moment could become quite erotic. I know Iâll store the ideas dancing in my head away for another time. Right now, though, I shove even the slightest hint of taking this somewhere else way down.
Running the towel down her leg, I cast my gaze over her knee. Whatever she did has left it angry and bruised. Her scar puckered. When she releases a shuddering sigh, thatâs my cue to dress her, whether she wants me to or not.
âI can do that myself.â Thereâs less annoyance in her tone and more exhaustion, but when she struggles to snatch the pants from my hands, putting a stop to her stubbornness tonight is the only answer.
âStop. Being. A. Brat.â I push to my feet in one fluid motion, tangling one hand in her hair and tugging her to my body. âIâm taking care of you. End of story.â
I punctuate my order with a slap across her ass, the sound echoing in the empty space. Her mouth makes this perfect O shape, her pupils flaring. When I give her hair a slight tug, forcing her face up to mine, the fireâs still there, but so is understanding and maybe even acceptance.
âYes, Billy,â she murmurs, her eyes never leaving mine, and the temptation it presents is hard to ignore.
She knows what sheâs doing and despite what this might look like from the outside. She totally just flipped the tables on me and is in complete control.
âGood girl.â
A current of heat passes between us, her body gravitating to mine as I dress her. Every touch is laced with tension and not the shitty kind. After Iâve slipped on a pair of sweats, my hands absolutely grazing over her perfect peach ass in the process, I slip a shirt over her head. Pausing with the shirt covering her eyes, I take the moment to drag my gaze down over her breasts, her rose-coloured nipples, tight and budded, a tempting delight.
âFuck me,â I mutter, sliding the shirt down her body, my thumb skimming over her nipple.
âSorry, what was that?â No fucking way she didnât hear me, especially as her back arches, drawing out the touch longer than it should have been.
âI said put the brat away, Kennedy.â Tucking hair behind her ear, she leans into my touch and for a minute I can see this feeling becoming my guiding light, but as the lights switch off, I shelve it. âBetter get out of here before Carl puts the alarms on.â
Thereâs a slight glaze to her eyes, like the kind she gets after I make her come, and the hope that sheâs feeling this thing between us takes on a life of its own. Shoving all her stuff into her bag, I swing it over my shoulder and allow the smile building to take over my face. âReady?â
âFor what?â One eyebrow heads up to her hairline, but it quickly thins out into a frown as I scoop her up into my arms.
