I lifted the lid off the box. Inside was an envelope stuffed with a stack of small square black-and-white photographs.

“Well, I’ll be damned,” I said. “These are from Ravello. I imagine you’re going to want to keep these.”

I looked at each photograph and handed them to Lisa, one by one.

“You took these?” she whispered.

“I did. I had completely forgotten about them. See this one,” I said, pointing, “that’s on board the Agneta, Gianni Agnelli’s yacht. We’re under sail. It looks like Mrs. Kennedy caught me taking the picture. You can see the Amalfi coast in the background.

“I was the only agent on board. I’d go up on the bow and just try to stay out of the way. Stay out of earshot of their conversations so Mrs. Kennedy could feel like she had privacy and forget I was even there.”
