Good music. Good food. Good conversation. Good company.
Those were the four things I needed on this rainy Wednesday night. Temptation wanted me to call Atlas so we could make our version of Netflix and chill. I opted out and called my girls over for a desperate girl’s night in. I needed it. I needed them to be my head of reason and rationality.
Sitting in my thoughts gave me doses of love blues that only seemed to mount my love for Atlas to the moon and back.
“Do you believe there is a time frame when one should get married or not?” I blurted out to both of them, not caring who answered first as long as I got an answer.
“Is it bizarre and foolish of me to feel so open and ready with Atlas that if he asked me to marry him tonight I would?” I blew out a deep breath trying to keep the foolish tears at bay.
Atlas lived up to his name in so many ways. He was the map I never knew I wanted to follow. The map to my hidden chamber of secrets. The map to making me feel loved and desired like a man makes his woman feel.
My personal map that led me to God when I felt low on energy and my map of strength that replenished me when I was empty. My atlas to the many worlds of pleasure he had yet to unlock within me.
His brain, heart, lungs, mouth, his whole being. My atlas.
His brain stimulated my mind and fed me knowledge and wisdom. Tested my own and taught me to reach beyond the stars.
His heart. My personal cave of warmth. The place that I loved laying on to hear my specific heartbeat. That place that loved me without a care for my flaws.
His lungs. My oxygen tank when breathing on my own seemed impossible because he took my breath away by a smile or saying my name.
His ears. My personal diary. My sanctuary of peace and solace.
His mouth. Two pink and brown pillows that had the power to kiss me back to life and make my knees weak. If Atlas failed with his words to tell me how he felt, then he used his mouth and I got every message loud and clear.
His arms held me tight. Comforting me when I needed him the most.
I could go on and on for days about him and how he made me feel.
Stirring my virgin mango and peach daquiri, I smiled to no one. “Or maybe I’m rushing it because I’ve been single and celibate for so long and this is my body talking,” huffing, I twirled on the bar stool with a silly grin on my face.
“We haven’t known each other long but when can you actually say that you know someone? We evolve and change every day. We aren’t who we once were five years ago. I don’t know.”
“Damn boo. My boo thang got it bad for ole boy Atlas.” Coco giggled, coming over to me with a refill drink.
