“Doctooooor!” Illy’s wings flapped wide open. “Doctor! Look at them, look at them! See! See!”

“I’ve already seen them many times now, Illy.”

“Look again! See, look, are there any spots that seem rough, or any places where feathers are falling out? Are they okay?”

“A few of them have fallen out, but they’ll all grow back, don’t worry.” As Glenn gave a nod, Illy laughed mischievously.

She spun around and around in the village square. The wings brought with them a vivid color that one might at first mistake for another harpy’s. Every time she laid eyes on Glenn, she would call out for him to stop and check up on the health of her wings.

Illy’s wings had taken on a drastic new appearance.

The original red color of her feathers had become an even brighter crimson red and emitted a mysterious power. Her flight feathers had no trace left of their former gray and black colors. With underlying tones of yellow and blue, they further emphasized Illy’s beautiful vermillion coloration.

Illy’s colors were reminiscent of the cockatoos that inhabited the tropical regions of the world, but the brilliance of her feathers gave the impression that they were ablaze. The hues changed subtly depending on how they reflected in the sunlight. Glenn thought the colors were, perhaps, pretending to flicker like a flame.

Her crest had changed, too. Before, she had only a single feather bobbing up and down atop her head, but now a three-feathered crest had sprung up in its stead, looking like a case of bedhead. Feathers came in and out of sight between the gaps in her hair. That part of her plumage had also changed color to blue and yellow.

Besides those things, nothing else had changed, but the impression she gave was of one who had gone through a drastic transformation.

“Illy!” Catching sight of the harpy from afar, Tisalia’s hooves pounded as she raced over. “You’re barely wearing anything again! You’re a young lady—you need to make sure to dress yourself properly!”

“Whaaat? But then no one would be able to see my feathers!”

“You’ll catch a cold like that! And you need to learn some modesty!”

Tisalia’s lecturing fell on Illy’s deaf ears. The harpy had a bright smile on her face, as if her sulking from before had been nothing more than a lie.

Glenn thought that Tisalia had a point—Illy was quite thinly dressed.

He had no doubt that it was to show off the feathers around her neck, but she was wearing a type of outfit that hung by a string to cover up her chest, so her back and the rest of her upper body were entirely visible. With the cold winds of winter beginning to blow, it was an extremely thin layer of clothing. On top of that, considering all the jumping up and down she did, there were parts of her body that were liable to become visible—ones that she definitely shouldn’t allow others to see.

Seeing a tender-aged young girl prance around in such an outfit would make anyone, not just Tisalia, want to say something.
